Agility is an ongoing sport, so many of our teams choose to continue their training with us from foundations to advanced, whether they train just for fun or compete at trials. In these levels you will learn how to direct your dog through a pre-set obstacle course which will increase in length and difficulty as your skills improve. Unique courses are designed weekly and may include: tunnels, jumps, teeter, table, tire jumps, weave poles, hoops, contact equipment (A-frame, Dog walk).

Courses are completed with your dog relying solely on the cues and body language you use to direct them, making proficiency of handling skills a key component of training. Emphasis will be placed on improving basic agility skills and teamwork in the Pre-Novice level. You will learn how to plan your course routes and effectively communicate with your dog to function smoothly as a team.

As you become more advanced, emphasis is placed on longer and more challenging obstacle sequences, incorporating a mixture of the basic agility course designs. Handlers will be encouraged to try a variety of handling skills to determine what works best for their own dogs.

  • 8 week sessions, classes meet for 1 hour weekly

  • $160/8 weeks

  • Dogs must have completed Agility Foundations before moving up to these higher levels. If you have completed some agility training class at another facility, please contact us to determine what level class would be most appropriate.
