Our Classes

We offer a variety of training classes, from behavior to dog sports, with options for group classes or private one-on-one sessions. Our programs provide you with training for every stage of your dog’s life: puppy socialization, navigating adolescence, or enriching your senior dogs life. Whether you join us at one of our on-site training locations or schedule in-home training, our trainers look forward to working with you and your dog!

Puppy

Our puppy programs are designed to help you develop that everlasting bond of a human-dog relationship. During this exciting time, your puppy will be experiencing many new things, like meeting and socializing with other puppies and humans, and learning to navigate the world around them. Puppy classes provide a valuable opportunity for learning for both puppy and handler.

Puppies Unleashed (Socialization)

This puppy class will be taught on and off-leash with a focus on socialization and handler engagement. Off-leash play will be frequently interrupted by short training interludes, so that the puppy learns to respond quickly, reliably and happily to their owners’ requests.

Puppy Preschool & AKC S.T.A.R Puppy

Puppy preschool provides an introduction to Basics to set your puppy up for success. Through training games and exercises, your puppy will learn the value in engaging with you, even in the presence of distractions. This class also includes the AKC S.T.A.R. puppy test, a first step in the AKC CGC program.

Puppy Jumpstart (Agility)

Puppy Jumpstart provides a sport centered opportunity to engage with your puppy during their next stage of growth and development. Age appropriate exercises will improve your puppies body awareness, coordination, and confidence. Whether you choose to pursue the sport of Agility long term or just join us for some guaranteed fun, this class is a great way to enhance your relationship with your puppy!

Puppy Training Package

We can help set your puppy up for lifetime success with our Puppy Training Package. Our puppy package offers you the opportunity to enroll in our 7 week Puppies Unleashed program followed by our 6 week Puppy Pre-School program at a discounted rate. Your puppy will be off to a great start with the opportunity for socialization, enrichment, handler engagement and an introduction to basic life skills!

Family Dog (Obedience)

Our Family Dog classes are designed to help your dog become a successful member of your family. Using choice based and context learning training techniques, we teach you how to effectively and efficiently communicate with your dog to develop important skills they will utilize throughout their life.

Family Dog Basics

Our Family Dog program is a next step for puppies or the first steps for your adult dog in learning essential foundation skills. Utilizing positive reinforcement, science backed training methods, we teach you how to effectively communicate with your dog and encourage critical thinking while learning the basics.

Intermediate Family Dog & AKC CGC

This class in the next step for basics graduates looking to take their Basics training skills to the next level. Handlers will have their dogs work through sound and movement distraction through diligent focus work. This class will also address the 10 skills needed to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.

Advanced Family Dog & AKC CGC

Our Advanced class is intended for those students who have completed Basic and Intermediate training and would like to apply their skills in real world settings. Weekly group classes will visit a variety of local community locations to practice skills on the AKC Community Canine and Urban CGC tests.

Dog Sports

Dog sports are a great way to further enhance your relationship with your dog while improving upon basic skills and having fun! Our sport classes provide options that are accessible for all skill levels, ages, and breeds. We strive to be inclusive and meet the needs of all dogs, so our sport classes are also available to reactive dogs and those with special needs.

Agility

Agility is one part obedience, one part relationship, and one part sheer adrenaline rush! In Agility, a dog and handler team navigate an obstacle course while racing against the clock. Agility is a sport that appeals to all dog lovers - from young people to senior citizens. Agility is designed to demonstrate a dog's athleticism and willingness to work with his handler. It requires conditioning, concentration, training and teamwork.

Tricks are for Dogs

Trick training is a great way to spend quality time with your canine companion. You will both have a great time working as a team to learn new skills and conquer challenges together! Basic behaviors will transition into learning more advanced skills and behavior chains. Graduates may choose to apply for Trick Dog Titles.

Pawsitive Fit (Canine Fitness)

Fit Mind, Fit Body! Canine Conditioning and Fitness Training addresses the 5 fitness components: Flexibility, Balance, Stamina, Coordination & Strength. Fitness training is beneficial for peak performance in sports and overall health and wellness of all dogs. It is practiced in pursuit of peak performance, injury prevention & rehabilitation.

Barkour (Dog Parkour)

Dog Parkour, also known as Urban Agility, combines elements of human parkour and dog agility to create an accessible activity for dogs and their human teammates. In Barkour, dogs are introduced to the world of jumping over, climbing, balancing, crawling under, and going around different obstacles that are found in their environment.

Scent for Fun

Scent for Fun is an introductory scent class where your dog will learn fun games to search for food. It is ideal for active dogs, dogs with physical limitations and every dog in between! For more experienced dogs and handlers, food and odors can be paired or dogs can search for scent alone.

Supernova Scouts

Supernova Scouts encourages handlers and their dogs to get outside and explore together! Walking can be a great way to improve general obedience skills while providing opportunities for mental and physical exercise. Our group adventures include a guided walk with a small group of dogs and handlers to explore together. This can be a great opportunity for socialization and provides additional challenges for improving training skills.

Behavior

Addressing behavior challenges can be be overwhelming on your own. Our classes provide you with the skills and knowledge to help your dog learn to more successfully navigate the world around them.

Reactive Rehab

Does your dog bark and/or lunge at other dogs, people, or objects? Do you avoid or worry about taking your dog on walks because of how they may react? Reactive Rehab can help!

Adolescent A*holes

Do you feel like your sweet puppy was replaced with a difficult teenager overnight? Adolescence can be a frustrating phase of development for dog owners. This class is designed to specifically address the over-arousal and impulse control issues your adolescent dog is experiencing.

Confident Canine

Is your dog a wallflower, scared to join in, always watching from the sidelines? Our Confident Canine class will provide you with a better understanding of your dog’s timid and fearful behavior and teach you how to help your dog become more confident and less fearful in normal, everyday situations.

Private Training

Working one-on-one with a trainer allows us to customize a training plan to address the needs and challenges of your dog. Individual sessions are also a great way for dogs who are fearful and/or reactive towards people or dogs to get started with training before transitioning into a group class.

In-Home Training

While training classes can be beneficial for addressing a variety of behavior challenges, your dog’s behavior may be specific to the environmental context of your home. Issues such as resource guarding, separation anxiety, interhousehold aggression, house training, crate training, or reactivity to visitors are best addressed in the environment in which they are occurring. We offer in-home training services to dog owners in Tonawanda and the surrounding suburbs, contact us to discuss your training challenging and goals.

Ring Rentals

Want to work on those new agility handling skills you learned in class last week? Is your yard a swamp or un-fenced and you need a place to let your dog run and play off leash? Looking for a place to work on leash skills and recalls in the middle of winter? We have just the space for you!

SUPERNOVA University

Day School for Dogs

For those dog guardians with active, high energy dogs, fulfilling your dogs desire to work can be challenging. While play alone may be fun and address your dogs physical needs, it does not provide the mental stimulation that many dogs need. Day school provides your dog with an outlet for physical exercise with the inclusion of important and valuable mental engagement. Your dog will return home tired and satisfied after a great day full of varied activities.

We have programs for puppies, adolescents and adult dogs - including socialization, exercise, training and enrichment!
